Proofify Products (“Proofify,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Shopify application that helps merchants collect and showcase product reviews, send review requests, and reward eligible reviewers. This Privacy Policy explains how we process information when merchants use our app and when shoppers interact with Proofify-powered features.

Merchants generally control their customers’ information and determine how Proofify is used in their stores. We process information to provide the features they enable, subject to applicable law and Shopify requirements.

Merchant and store information

Store name, Shopify domain and identifiers, merchant contact information, installation and authorization details, app preferences, widget settings, and support communications.

Customer and order information

Customer names and email addresses, customer and order identifiers, purchased products, and relevant order status information needed to verify purchases, send review requests, or administer rewards.

Reviews and submissions

Ratings, review text, display names, review dates, product associations, uploaded photos or videos, and merchant replies. Depending on store settings, selected review content may appear publicly on the merchant’s storefront.

Technical information

Limited operational logs and technical information needed to maintain security, diagnose errors, and keep the service working.

• Authenticate merchants and operate Shopify integrations.

We do not sell merchant or customer personal information.

When enabled by a merchant, Proofify may use purchase and contact information to send review requests or reward notifications. Reward features may use review eligibility, order references, discount details, and redemption status. Merchants are responsible for ensuring their use of customer information and email communications complies with applicable consent and marketing rules.

We may share information with Shopify and service providers that help us host the application, store records, deliver emails, or maintain operations. Our infrastructure may include Render (hosting), Neon (database), and Resend (email delivery). Information is shared only as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant services, respond to lawful requests, or protect the service.

Third-party services have their own privacy and security practices. The final published policy should accurately reflect all providers actually used, including any media storage services.

We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS connections, authenticated access, restricted credentials, and operational controls to protect data.

We retain information for as long as necessary to operate the service and meet legitimate legal or operational requirements. Following an app uninstall or valid deletion request, we handle data in accordance with applicable law and Shopify privacy requirements. Specific retention and deletion timelines should reflect our implemented processes.

Depending on applicable law, individuals may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or exercise other applicable privacy rights. Shoppers may contact the merchant they purchased from, or reach us using the contact details below. We may need to verify requests before responding.

Proofify is intended to support Shopify’s required customer data request, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure processes, where applicable. These workflows must be implemented and tested before publication.

Service providers may process information in countries other than where a merchant or shopper resides. Where required, appropriate safeguards should apply to international transfers.

Proofify is not directed to children and is not intended to knowingly collect children’s personal information in violation of applicable law.

We may update this policy as our features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will revise the “Last updated” date when changes are published and provide additional notice where required.
